What Is This Thing Called Jazz?
The name of our mini-seminar comes from the famous jazz standard "What Is This Thing Called Love?" by composer and songwriter Cole Porter.

And here we are, starting our lessons in the spirit of jazz!

Pianist and composer Selen Gülün will take us on a fun, engaging, and educational journey through the history of jazz music. In this four-week seminar, she will cover the periods, movements, subgenres, legendary musicians, and albums of jazz from its beginnings to today, all from the perspective of an active musician. She will also share stories and anecdotes from her own career.
The seminar will take place online via Zoom on Tuesdays, from 21:00 to 22:30 for four weeks. The sessions will be recorded and will be available for participants to watch for 48 hours.

In the final session, there’s a surprise awaiting you—a mini solo concert by Selen Gülün, featuring some of the jazz standards discussed during the seminar!

The seminar is open to anyone interested in jazz music.
Let’s listen, watch, and learn together.
